Dental braces are used to help shift, straighten and align your teeth. Braces can be used to rid you of an overbite, underbite or crossbite There are four different kinds of braces: metal (traditional) braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces or an Invisalign.

Metal, or traditional, braces are the oldest and most common type of braces. This less expensive option uses metal brackets and wires. Modern day brackets are much smaller than they were in the past, and aren’t as noticeable either.

Ceramic braces are much like metal braces in size and shape. The major difference however is that the brackets are either clear or the color of your teeth. Ceramic braces are definitely less noticeable. Some orthodontists also utilize wires that are the color of your teeth. Although this option is a little more expensive than the metal braces, if you’re looking for an more cosmetically appealing route, ceramic braces will be a good choice.

Lingual braces are the exact same thing as metal braces with the exception of placement. Metal braces are placed on the front the the teeth and Lingual braces are place inside of the teeth. This option is a little more on the expensive side, but if you’re looking to have your corrective method be invisible, this is it.

Invisalign® is made of BPA-free plastic that is almost invisible to the eye. This method provides you with two aligner trays that slide over your teeth. Invisalign® gradually shifts your teeth into place, can be taken out for easy cleaning and allow you to eat whatever you would like.
